Opening Day with Cornelius Minor

We are extremely fortunate to be welcoming Cornelius Minor as our keynote speaker the morning of August 26, 2019.  Cornelius, better known as Mr. Minor, is a Brooklyn-based middle school educator. He works with teachers, school leaders, and leaders of community-based organizations to support equitable literacy reform in cities (and sometimes villages) across the globe. Mr. Minor is affiliated with Columbia Teachers College Reading and Writing Project and most recently authored, WE GOT THIS, a book focused on learning and equity in all K-12 classrooms. Cornelius uses his love for technology, hip-hop, and social media to bring communities together. He draws his experiences and knowledge not only from years teaching middle school in the Bronx and Brooklyn, but also on time spent skateboarding, shooting hoops, and working with young people. We are excited that Cornelius will be sharing his insights with us as we open our doors to the 2019-20 school year!
